If you're looking to optimize your Mazda FD RX7's fuel system, the Radium Engineering fuel surge tank hanger is a fantastic choice. Designed specifically for the Mazda RX7 (US 1993-1995 and JDM 1992-2002), this system allows you to use up to three aftermarket high-pressure pumps along with one lift pump, all within the stock fuel tank.
One of the standout features of this surge tank is its integrated 1.85L design, which effectively eliminates any concerns about fuel starvation. You won't need to worry about grinding, bending, or modifying your trunk floor'this setup is all about simplicity and efficiency.
When it comes to plumbing, Radium has made it straightforward. The 10AN ORB threaded feed port is equipped with a low-profile 8AN male fitting, while the return port features a low-profile 6" male fitting. Plus, if you want to reconnect the OEM feed and return hoses, barb fittings are included for your convenience.
Worried about electrical demands? The custom-designed stainless electrical studs are perfect for handling high current, unlike compact bulkhead connectors. These connections are sealed to withstand all types of fuels, both standard and exotic. To prevent any accidental short circuits, nonconductive acorn nuts are included, and the in-tank wiring is insulated with chemically resistant ETFE.
Fuel starvation can be a real issue for the FD RX7, especially when you're pushing the limits with high lateral Gs. Thankfully, the surge tank design takes this into account, using a lift pump located in the rear of the OEM sub-tank to maintain volume. The included lift pump mount snaps onto three sides of the sub-tank, acting as a baffle to ensure your lift pump always has fuel.
The 1" check ball in the system allows fuel to flow in during acceleration while trapping it during deceleration. The lift pump sends low-pressure, high-volume fuel into the surge tank via a special deflector, which evenly disperses the fuel and prevents air bubbles. When the demand for fuel is low, the canister overflows back into the OEM sub-tank, keeping everything balanced.
With the Radium Engineering Ti Automotive E5Lm Fhst w/o Pumps, you can confidently tackle any driving adventure in your Mazda FD RX7, knowing that your fuel system is up to the task!
